On December 1, anti-war and democratic communities of Russians around the world, together with the human rights project "Political prisoners support. Memorial" launched a fundraising campaign called "New Year's Gift for Political Prisoners." While we turn on the lights and set the tables for the holiday season, hundreds of political prisoners in Russia will spend New Year's Eve in cold prison cells, away from their families and loved ones and the comforts of home.
